Field Trip: Maynooth College Day

The Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival

Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival Field Trips to Maynooth University, always a highlight of the week with visits to the Museum, the Pugin Chapel, the magnificent campus including the Millennium Garden and more, hosted by President John Hughes.

PROGRAMME

12.00 noon

MASS - College Chapel.
Celebrant: Fergus O'Donoghue SJ, Editor Studies, an Irish Quarterly Review
Kildare Local Authorities' Choir

1.00 pm Brunch
2.15 pm TOUR of Historic Campus led by Séamus MacGabhann, NUIM
3.00 pm

VISITS to
The Russell Library Visit led by Penny Woods, NUIM. It was built to the design of Augustus Welby Pugin and completed in 1861. It was the main library until 1984 and is now the research library.
