The Gerard Manlye Hopkins Society was founded in 1987 to celebrate the poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins and his interests: poetry, painting, music, the arts, philosophy. Mainly, of course, we do this through our Annual Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival which has taken place during the last week of July since 1987. This literary festival continues to grow and develop.
Our The Gerard Manley Hopkins Archive, a resource for scholars, students and lovers of Hopkins poetry worldwide, contnues to grow. The Gerard Manley Hopkins Festival is organised and run by a Voluntary Committee which implements the vision of The Gerard Manley Hopkins Society. The Committee runs the international literary festival each Summer in Kildare, for the first years, in Monasterevin and since 2009, in Nwebridge.. We need your support. We have continued since 1987 thanks largely to the generosity of our Friends.
Who do The Gerard Manley Hopkins Society represent ?
The Gerard Manley Hopkins Society is a Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee and is approved for Tax Relief under Section 484 of TC.A. 1997. Sponsors and Donors who wish to avail of this Tax Relief should contact the Society for details Reg. number 268039. As a voluntary group, the Committee can exist only with the support and sponsorship of those who believe in what we are doing.
